11,000 run to raise awareness about kidney disease

Abu Dhabi: A total of 11,000 runners participated in this year’s UAE Healthy Kidney 10-kilometre run in New York, the Children’s National Medical Centre (CNMC) announced in a statement sent today (June 3).

Sponsored by the UAE Embassy in the United States, the marathon, which benefits the National Kidney Foundation, pays homage to the UAE’s founding father, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. CNMS is one of the key strategic partners supporting the annual event.

Organised annually since 2005, the 10-kilometre run was designed to raise awareness about kidney disease, its causes and preventive measures.
