Hauling truck goes up in flames in Ajman

Ajman: A truck was gutted and another one was partially damaged in a fire that broke that out in the Ajman industrial area on Tuesday morning.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, according to Ajman Civil Defence said. 

Lt. Col. Raad Obaid Al Zaabi, Deputy Director of Ajman Civil Defence, told Gulf News that the fire was reported at 12.13pm.

The fire completely gutted the head of one truck and damaged another truck parked next to it.

"The truck's crew evacuated the scene of the incident and initially tried to put out the flames, and then it was handed over to the competent authorities," he added.

Lt.Col. Al Zaabi urged drivers to conduct periodic maintenance of their vehicles for their safety especially during the summer period when temperatures rise.

He also urged public not to crowd around an incident site and give way for emergency crew to do their work.
