Sheikh Hasher Maktoum, Dubai Director of Information, opened the 10th Middle East International Boat Show at the Airport Expo Dubai yesterday.
The show, which will be open until Saturday, has attracted more than 100 companies, including 40 from the UAE, and representatives from 15 other countries.
"We are delighted with the excellent response we've had from the international boating community. This year's exhibition has a wide range of displays for both the general public and trade professionals" said Geoff Dickinson, managing director of Epoc International, the organiser.
The VIP Boat Show, at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, will remain open from 5pm to 10pm daily.
However, entry is by invitation only to this segment of the exhibition, which features 19 luxury yachts on the water and nine chalet stands, some representing international boat manufacturers.
Sixteen firms will be represented at the VIP show which has doubled in size since 2001.
