Are you ashamed of your fingers when you reach your hand out for a languid handclasp? Do your toes look less than good in that just-bought designer wedge-heel? Are you always planning to get your nails done but can never keep an appointment at the salon?

All that is about to change. You can now walk into a specialised nail therapy centre anytime between 9.00am and 9.00pm on weekdays and 4.00pm to 9.00pm on Fridays and have your nails looked after.

N.Bar, a gleaming, minimalist silver-chrome-pink store, has just opened. Situated on the first level of Palm Strip Mall, Dubai, it is the brainchild of Negin Fattahi, a lady who plans to take this concept worldwide.

Nail trends Nail fashion, like hairstyles, comes in waves. Nail art and nail jewellery, for instance, are fads that have lasted a long time, especially in the U.S. Negin Fattahi of N.Bar says nails this season are definitely Glam, G capital.

* Two tones are very in. They are like a coloured French manicure, only the tips are not white but a different colour.

* Glittery sheens are in, worn over dark colours or on their own.

* Syrup colours are the latest. They add a tint to a light colour and can also be worn on their own for a less dense effect.

* Metallic colours continue to be popular.

* On the catwalk, the nails are very long and round.

* The classical look, very short and square, dominates real life.

* What is not in, and never will be, are chipped, dark, nail polish on fingers or toes and extended toe nails.
Negin Fattahi, founder of N.Bar, suggests ways of keeping nails healthy * Make time for regular manicures and pedicures. * If your nails keep splitting, drink more fluids and keep nails hydrated by using creams or cuticle oils. Make sure your diet has enough vitamins.
