Six Pakistanis were killed and at least three injured when unidentified gunmen attacked a Christian missionary school at the hill resort of Murree near Islamabad yesterday, police said.

None of the 146 students from different nationalities at the Murree Christian School were hurt in the attack, they said.

The dead included two security guards, a cook, a carpenter and a receptionist of the school run by foreign missionaries at the summer resort located about 40 km of the capital.

Murree administrator Raja Mehfaooz said three people suffered bullet injuries and were admitted to a hospital.

Police said it was too soon to say who was behind the shooting, which involved at least three masked men armed with AK-47 assault rifles.
