The Gulf Model School, Dubai will move to its new premises by September. The school made the announcement yesterday when one of its pupils clinched the first place in the Kerala State Secondary Leaving Certificate (SSLC) in the entire Gulf region which was held in March.
Stressing that the growing number of pupils was one of the main reasons for the school to move, A. Najeeth, chairman and the main investor of the school, said: "Our new school building is located in Al Ghusais, Dubai.
It has been built at an estimated cost of Dh7 million. It can accommodate 3,000 pupils, who will have facilities like an auditorium, activity hall, a computer lab, other subject related laboratories and spacious classrooms.
"Our objective is to place importance in developing learning skills, creating self-confidence and instilling moral values among pupils. We are indeed very happy that the first rank holder in the Gulf region in the SSLC is from our school
It is a real morale booster for other pupils as well as the teaching faculty. We have decided to sponsor the future studies of our SSLC topper Binsa Basheer who has made the school proud by her outstanding achievements," he said.
The school will be honouring her with a gold medal today at a special assembly. According to Najeeth, Gulf Model School will soon start a branch in Kerala next year.
Our plan is to open a school in India which will be managed by us in the UAE. We have acquired about seven acres of land 50 km from Thiruvananthapuram.
Pupils and teachers who have left the UAE Gulf Model School due to unavoidable circumstances will be given preference in that school.
