About 40 graduates of Jamal Abdul Nasir High School celebrated their 25th reunion at a function recently. The gathering took place at Farid Mohammed Ahmed's house in Jumeirah. Ahmed is a graduate of the school.

The majority of graduates today hold important positions in the UAE government while the rest are businessmen.

Reliving their school days and talking of cherished memories, Ahmed said: "Meeting at this special Ramadan gathering night wasn't that difficult. The credit goes to the Internet which has bridged the distance between all the graduates. I used SMS messages to contact friends I already knew. Their number was very few at that time.

"Once I got in touch with them, I created a website putting in all the list of members and their addresses. Whenever I got in touch with one of them, I used to direct them to have a look at the website created exclusively for the school graduates. In no time, the website was full of names which I knew in my school days.

"Once we had quite a large number of graduates from our school we proposed the idea of holding a silver jubilee reunion. We did have a reunion earlier, every five years."
