Vice-President honours 12 winners of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, honoured 12 innovators on Tuesday, recognising their achievements in the fourth edition of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award. The winners were recognised for their impactful innovations that facilitate access to safe and clean drinking water at low cost.

In a post on his X account, Sheikh Mohammed said: “We honoured the winners of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award, which is overseen by the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia). Our aim in launching this award is to inspire and promote innovative solutions that address water scarcity and pollution in underprivileged communities. Now in its fourth edition, the award highlights 12 genuine innovations that enable the provision of affordable, safe, and clean drinking water.”

Sheikh Mohammed extended his congratulations to the winners and called on institutions in the water sector to make use of these innovative solutions.

He added: “We also congratulate the UAE Water Aid Foundation team, operating under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, for successfully organising this award and for implementing more than 1,000 sustainable water projects in 37 countries, benefiting 15 million people worldwide.”

Concluding, Sheikh Mohammed said: “The best charity is providing water, and the best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.”
