The UAE cabinet will be establishing a Legislative Intelligence Office: Sheikh Mohammed
Abu Dhabi: The UAE Cabinet, on Monday, approved the setting up of a Legislative Intelligence Office - a major step toward modernizing the country’s legislative process through artificial intelligence (AI) and data integration.
The new office will develop an integrated legislative map covering the country's federal and local laws. It will link this framework with court rulings, executive procedures, and public services powered by artificial intelligence.
The announcement came during a Cabinet meeting on Monday, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, held at Al Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi.
The system will allow the government to monitor legislation's impact on society and the economy in real-time, using big data analytics. It will also continuously propose legal amendments based on evolving needs and outcomes.
“This AI-based legislative system will represent a paradigm shift in the legislative cycle,” Sheikh Mohammed said. “It ensures speed, precision, and alignment with our rapid national development while maintaining legislative excellence and global best practices.”
The new office will be connected to international research and policy centres, enabling the UAE to remain aligned with the most effective and innovative legislative frameworks worldwide.
