Abu Dhabi: All federal government employees and retirees, civilians and military, as well as beneficiaries of social welfare services will get a one-month basic salary as a bonus in celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, on May 6.
On Saturday, President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered bonuses for all government employees. The bonus will be given before Eid Al Fitr and reportedly totals Dh1.6 billion.

“The UAE, its people and all those who love the UAE are celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of the late Shaikh Zayed which falls on May 6, 2018,” Shaikh Khalifa said.
"Zayed is the symbol of giving and generosity. He is the one who motivates us to give and contribute even after his demise. Today, 100 years passed on the birth of Zayed and thereby the UAE will always remain faithful, strong and pioneering country thanks to Zayed,” Shaikh Khalifa said.
Meanwhile, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: “Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed and his brothers are an extension of the late Shaikh Zayed. The 100th birth anniversary is indeed a historical and pure Emirati occasion. The UAE people will remain faithful to Zayed as long as there are hearts beating in this generous people, Shaikh Mohammad added.
Meanwhile His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, has ordered the payment of one-month salary to all employees of government of Abu Dhabi.
Shaikh Mohammad stressed that Zayed’s Centennial anniversary is a national and historical occasion where we demonstrate our loyalty and faithfulness to the founding father Shaikh Zayed”.
"The UAE is strong with Zayed’s history and sons. It is strong with Zayed’s values, which run in the blood of every citizen," Shaikh Mohammad said.
Bonuses announced in emirates
His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, and His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and His Highness Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah also ordered the payment of one-month salary to all government employees in Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah
In Dubai, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, ordered the payment of one-month salary as bonus to all Dubai government employees.
