Sheikh Mohammed praises Dubai security team for smooth New Year celebrations

55 government entities worked round the clock to ensure incident-free festivities

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday thanked the Events Security Committee for their dedicated efforts in ensuring safe and seamless New Year celebrations that reflect the stature of Dubai and the UAE.

On his X account, Sheikh Mohammed said: “Dubai is the city where the world meets. This year, 36 locations hosted New Year’s Eve celebrations, enjoyed by millions of tourists, residents, and citizens, alongside their families and loved ones, connecting with audiences in 190 countries. These celebrations embodied a global model of coexistence, tolerance and civilisation.”

He added: “We extend our congratulations to everyone on the New Year and our thanks go to all those who attended, participated, and celebrated with us from around the world. Special appreciation goes to the Events Security Committee, comprising 55 government entities, for their remarkable work in ensuring the safe and seamless organising of these celebrations in a manner that upheld the esteemed reputation of Dubai and the UAE. Happy New Year to everyone, and a special wish for the UAE—a nation that welcomes the world and stands as an honourable global model.”

On Tuesday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inspected the Joint Operations Room for the Events Security Committee.
