The initiative aims to entrench Dubai’s status as a global cultural and artistic beacon
Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Executive Council, has approved the ‘Dubai Orchestra’ project, a landmark cultural initiative aimed at strengthening the presence of UAE arts and culture on the global stage.
Led by Dubai Culture, the Dubai Orchestra has been launched in partnership with the public and private sectors. The project will showcase Dubai’s presence on the global arts stage and nurture new generations capable of carrying forward the message of cultural and human creativity.
The Dubai Orchestra aspires to consolidate Dubai’s position as a world-class cultural hub, a thriving centre for creativity, and a dynamic global meeting point for artistic talent. also seeks to enhance the efficiency of Dubai’s artistic ecosystem, nurture promising local talents, and solidify the emirate’s status as a leading incubator for innovation and cultural expression.
The orchestra project is designed to foster a vibrant creative environment that advances the local music sector, inspires and empowers Emirati talent, and attracts exceptional and innovative musicians from around the world.
It supports the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy aims to solidify Dubai's position as a global hub for creativity and the creative economy by 2025 as well as Dubai Social Agenda 33.
The orchestra, which is expected to play a role in inspiring and revitalizing the country’s arts sector, will launch several initiatives, including youth-oriented programmes effective partnerships with community institutions.
