By 2014, the Department of Information plans to offer 400 eServices to residents
Sharjah: After two years of preparation and planning, the Department of Information and eGovernment for the Government of Sharjah, is ready to unveil its eGovernment portal — www.sharjah.ae.
The portal will be launched on Tuesday, and will offer information on Sharjah eGovernment and its proposed eServices.
Initially, it will offer only information but in the next phase, 14 eServices from seven Sharjah departments will be offered through the portal, and more will be added.
Mubarak Bel Aswad Mubarak, Director General of the Department of Information and eGovernment and head of the eGovernment Committee in Sharjah, said: "It is a matter of great pride for us to unveil the eGovernment portal, as it represents Sharjah's entry into the world of eGovernance and eServices."
The committee has established a five-year plan that aims to increase the number of eServices offered to more than 400 services by 2014.
