Dubai: Watani Al Emarat Foundation celebrated on Tuesday the second edition of its humanitarian works awards which coincide with Zayed Humanitarian Day and the commemoration of Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan on Ramadan 19.

The celebration was held at the presence of Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, was chosen the golden humanitarian personality for 2014 in recognition of his charitable and humanitarian achievements and his continued support of many charities and special needs children and adults.

This year’s edition has the slogan ‘This is what Zayed loved’ and aims at awarding eminent personalities across the UAE community for charitable works. The award has 11 categories in various areas of charity work.

The awards aim to encourage humanitarian work by encouraging the transfer of knowledge and best practices by institutions and personalities in the UAE.

Shaikh Nahyan expressed his joy at receiving the award.
