Abu Dhabi: A total of 13 violations have been issued to those who placed unauthorised signs on public structures across Al Wathba area in the capital.

The unlicensed signs, which advertise goods and services, were found to create confusion among road users and mar the public appearance.

Violators have been fined Dh1,000, which must be paid within a month. Otherwise, the issue will be referred to the municipal courts.

In the meantime, the municipality is continuing to inspect the suburbs in order to ensure that unauthorised signs and billboards do not clutter public spaces in the capital.
