Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday discussed ways to strengthen the UAE-China strategic partnership during his meeting with China’s Vice-President Wang Qishan and his delegation,

Shaikh Mohammad welcomed the Chinese Vice-President and hailed the exchange of visits as a catalyst for the growth of bilateral relations and taking them to greater heights, in order to achieve the supreme national goals and interests of both nations and peoples.

Shaikh Mohammad highlighted the depth of the ties of friendship and cooperation binding the two countries in various economic, cultural, tourism and humanitarian spheres. Qishan expressed his delight at visiting the UAE where he is impressed with the milestones and cultural achievements it has made. He wished the UAE’s leadership further success in making more accomplishments that he is cherished.

The Chinese Vice-President congratulated Shaikh Mohammad on the successful launch of the UAE-made satellite KhalifaSat into space, and hailed it as an unprecedented Emirati achievement. He praised the efficiency of Emirati youth and their ability to match advanced countries in the space industry that will serve their country and its people as well as the entire humanity.

He affirmed his country’s participation in Dubai Expo 2020, and described it as an enormous international economic and tourism event. Qishan expressed his hope that the Expo 2020 would be a resounding success that goes in harmony with Dubai’s story of success.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, other shaikhs and senior officials were present.

Meanwhile, Qishan and his delegation visited the Emirates Towers and Area 2071. He met with Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. Qishan praised the UAE’s future approach, successful experiences and leading initiatives in the development of government work.

The delegates were introduced to the Government Accelerators’ initiative, which was launched in 2016 to accelerate the achievement of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021, enhance government efforts and innovate solutions to challenges facing government entities.

The delegation also visited the Dubai Future Accelerators government to create breakthrough solutions for the world’s most exciting opportunities and pressing challenges, by forging partnerships with major international technology companies.

The delegates were briefed on the experience of ‘Youth Hub’ and the ‘Services 1’ Centre, which is a model centre that represents a one-stop for the public to acquire services and mirrors the future of government services.
