Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday held talks with Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them.
Shaikh Mohammad welcomed the visiting Bulgarian Prime Minister and expressed hope that the visit would help expand avenues of cooperation ties and joint action in the best interests of both nations and peoples.
The two leaders explored ways to develop bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, investment, tourism, educational, cultural, industrial and agricultural spheres for the good of the two countries and to realise their common interests.
They discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest and exchanged views regarding them.
Shaikh Mohammad underlined that the UAE is keen to build bridges of communication with countries in compliance with the principles of tolerance, cooperation and oppeness towards others.
The UAE and Bulgaria enjoy distinguished relations based on understanding and mutual respect and the common desire to develop them to reflect the aspirations of the two countries and their peoples.
Borissov stressed his country’s eagerness to reinforce cooperation with the UAE in all areas. He expressed his delight that his visit comes at a time the UAE is celebration the Year of Zayed.
Earlier in the day, Borissov arrived in the country on a state visit to the UAE. He was accorded a red carpet reception at the Presidential Palace where the national anthem of Bulgaria was played followed by a 21-gun salute. He is accompanied by a high-profile delegation comprising Ekaterina Zaharieva, Deputy Prime Minister for Judicial Reform and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Vladislav Ivanov Goranov, Minister of Finance.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Al Ain Region; Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Lt General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, other shaikhs and senior officials.
