Dubai: The Ministry of Labor affirmed its immediate halt of permits for companies not adhering to the implementation of labour judicial rulings.

A grace period of 30 days will be granted to employers and their partners in the company that is not implementing those provisions before making a decision against their other installations, pursuant to the decision of Saqr Bin Gobash Saeed Gobash, Minister of Labour, issued recently in this regard.

Humaid Bin Deemas Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour Affairs, said the ministry has nearly completed the names of companies not implementing rulings in cooperation with courts departments, to ensure the smooth implementation of the resolution and to achieve its desired goals.

Al Suwaidi clarified that the decision comes in the framework of the country’s policies aimed at strengthening the rule of law and institutions and respecting all verdicts issued by the judiciary based on the principle that nothing is above the provisions of the law and the judiciary.

He added that the law is the last resort in labour disputes that arise between the two parties of any employment contract.

He added that the suspension decision enhances the legislation and tools supervisory system applied by the ministry within its strategic plan for the protection of workers’ rights. It also comes in light of the keenness and commitment of the ministry to provide all forms of protection for workers and to ensure that the interests of the employers are in accordance with national legislation and in conformity with international conventions and standards applicable in this regard.
