Dubai: Jordan has now become the first country to adopt the UAE’s Fourth Generation of Government Excellence System (4GES).

The UAE government on Saturday signed a cooperation agreement with Jordan, by which the latter will adopt the Fourth Generation of Government Excellence System.

The agreement, which was signed by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, and Majd Shwaikeh, Minister of Public Sector Development, Jordan and member of the Board of Trustees of King Abdullah II Centre for Excellence, will help strengthen partnerships, share knowledge, experiences and best practices, and boost coordination in the field of government work.

Uhoud Khalfan Al Roumi, Minsiter of State for Happiness and Quality of Life and director-general of the Prime Minister’s Office of the UAE, and Mariam Al Hammadi, assistant director-general for Government Performance and Excellence at the Prime Minister’s Office, were present.

“The UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, strongly believes in the importance of knowledge partnership to enrich the development process. It is continuously working on designing and adopting future tools made available by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and building models of work on the basis of scientific and practical outlook to meet the challenges of the future,” Al Gergawi said.

He added that the agreement between the UAE and Jordan is an extension of both countries’ distinguished relations and reflects the UAE Government vision to share its successful experiences and models of pioneering work with governments of sisterly and friendly countries.

The agreement stipulates the setting up of effective partnership and extending bridges of cooperation, coordination and exchange of experience, and studies in the fields of government work.

The agreement also includes cooperation in the transfer of knowledge and application of best practices to spread the concepts of quality and excellence and raise the level of leadership of government agencies.
