The media office confirmed the interception led to minor damage in the area, but no injuries were reported.

Authorities urged the public to rely only on official sources for updates and to refrain from spreading rumours or unverified information.

Early morning missile threats neutralised

Early on Thursday morning at around 4.30am, the UAE’s air defence systems responded to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran, the Ministry of Defence UAE said, as loud sounds were reported in several parts of the country.

In a statement, the ministry confirmed that the noises heard across different areas were the result of successful interceptions of missiles and drones targeting the UAE.

The ministry also issued an emergency alert, urging residents to seek immediate shelter following warnings of a potential missile threat.

What to do during emergency alerts

Prioritise safety over filming: Do not record or share videos on social media during alerts. Follow instructions immediately.

Motorists: Continue driving safely to your destination. Do not stop on the road; seek shelter once you arrive.

Seek secure locations: Move to a safe place or remain indoors until an official ‘all clear’ is issued.

Use emergency hotlines responsibly: Call 999 only in genuine emergencies to keep lines open for critical cases.

Avoid spreading rumours: Share information only from verified official sources.
