ICP explains procedure to get UAE residence permits

Abu Dhabi: The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security has clarified the procedure and steps involved for issuing, renewing, and modifying residence permits. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s commitment to digital services and automation.

Through social media, the authority clarified that applying for issuance, renewal or modification requires logging into an account via the authority’s website or smart app using the UAE Pass. The applicant must select the individual for whom the service is requested, choose the required service, review and update the retrieved data if necessary, and complete the payment of applicable fees.

The authority said that confirmation of the residency permit issuance is sent via email to the registered address in the application. The Emirates ID associated with the residency request is then delivered through approved courier companies as the final step.
