Dubai: In line with the “Community Year 2025” initiative, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) will host a large-scale community event on June 6 and 7, 2025, to mark Eid Al Adha. Titled “Let’s Celebrate Eid Together,” the event aims to reach hundreds of thousands of workers across Dubai, recognising their essential contributions to the city’s development.

A festival of faith and unity

The celebration begins on the morning of Eid with a congregational prayer organised in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department. It will be followed by a diverse program of cultural and humanitarian activities designed to reflect Dubai’s social diversity and inclusive values.

Hybrid access and instant rewards

From 1:00pm to 11:00pm, the event will feature both on-site and virtual participation options. A live broadcast and digital interface will allow workers to register with their phone numbers to join electronic raffles and win instant prizes — ensuring those unable to attend in person can still be part of the festivities.

The field celebration will include multicultural music, dance, and artistic performances, creating a festive atmosphere that brings together Dubai’s vibrant labor force.

Dh500,000 worth of prizes

More than 400 high-value prizes — including smartphones, shopping vouchers, flight tickets, gold bars, and cars — worth approximately Dh500,000 will be raffled. Prizes will be delivered directly to workers' accommodations in labor zones, maximizing outreach and convenience.

Unified government and humanitarian support

Golden sponsors include Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Al Fattan, and flydubai. Government entities such as the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Police, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services are also actively involved. Humanitarian partners like the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, Dubai Charity Association, and Beit Al Khair Society further support the initiative.

Organised for comfort and safety

The venue will feature air-conditioned tents, shaded seating, and designated zones for staff and organizers. Security and logistics personnel will ensure a smooth, respectful, and well-managed experience throughout the day.

Leadership speaks on community values

Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai, emphasised the event’s role in honoring the labor force. “This celebration embodies our core values and Dubai’s inclusive spirit — putting people first,” he said.

Colonel Omar Matar Al Mezaina added that the hybrid format is a regional first. “It allows workers to join from wherever they are, even during peak hours, bringing joy to their lives and reaffirming GDRFA’s community mission.”

The event is expected to draw more than 25,000 participants, highlighting GDRFA Dubai’s continued leadership in people-centered governance.
