Cairo: Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak established a new award titled "The Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for the Distinguished Woman in the Arab Family".

The award aims at projecting the distinctive role of the Arab woman in establishing the family, society and nation.

The award which will be allocated for Arab women, is meant to highly value them and honour distinguished pioneers, as an incentive to encourage young women, the builders of the future at the side of their male partner.

The announcement of the award was made by Noura Al Suwaidi, Director of the General Women's Federation, during the third meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Woman's Organisation, taking place in Cairo.

It coincides with and marks the Arab Woman's Day, celebrated on February 1, every year.

Shaikha Fatima's initiative was cheered by leading Arab women, who expressed their appreciation at the initiative that comes in line with her keen interest in Arab women's issues, and her continuous giving towards women's best interests.
