Accolades span innovation, sustainability, risk management, and public health and safety
Dubai: Dubai Municipality has once again demonstrated its leadership in institutional excellence and innovation, securing 10 prominent local and international awards in the second quarter of 2025.
The honours span a wide spectrum of categories, reflecting the Municipality’s ongoing success in enhancing operational efficiency, digital transformation, sustainability, risk management, and workplace safety.
The Municipality achieved first place in two categories of the HBC International Awards by the Harvard Business Council for its Robotic Process Automation (RPA) initiative. The project, which streamlines procurement processes, plays a key role in supporting Dubai’s smart city ambitions.
The same initiative also clinched the Gold Award from the Noble Business Awards and received recognition from the Globee Awards for Technology.
In the field of risk management, Dubai Municipality took home the top prize at the 2025 IIRSM Awards for its Hair Dye Safety Assessment initiative, which was named Most Impactful Risk Research. The initiative reinforces the Municipality’s commitment to ensuring product safety and protecting public health.
At the Construction Technology Confex Awards, Dubai Municipality received two major accolades:
Best BIM Organisation of the Year for its Building Information Modelling (BIM) project.
Sustainable Project of the Year for its innovative Waste-to-Energy Centre in Warsan, which reflects Dubai’s broader commitment to environmental sustainability and clean energy.
Dubai Municipality’s focus on institutional development was also recognised at the International Quality Awards, where it secured first place in the Best Quality Team category for its Integrated Management System initiative. This system has improved operational performance and procedural efficiency across the organisation.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to civic engagement, the Municipality won top honours at the 22nd Sharjah Volunteer Award in the Volunteer Opportunities Creation category.
The award acknowledged the success of the “An Hour with the Cleaning Engineer’’ initiative, which has attracted over 21,000 volunteers and more than 300 participating entities since 2017.
Dubai Municipality’s health and safety practices were celebrated internationally. The US National Safety Council (NSC) awarded the Rising Star Award to Engineer Mohamed Aldhanhani, recognising him as a global leader in workplace safety. Engineer Sultan Aldahmani was also praised for his pioneering efforts in occupational safety.
Additionally, the Municipality received the Silver Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), and was honoured for achieving the highest safety standards on Dubai’s public beaches — ensuring safe, accessible environments for all.
