13-room traditional guest house to come up in Al Shindagha
Dubai: A 13-room traditional guest house will come up in Al Shindagha area of Dubai as a special team at Dubai Municipality works on its design.
A follow-up meeting was held recently by the architectural heritage department of Dubai Municipality to discuss the detailed plan and design of the guest house project such as rooms, services and facilities to welcome official delegations and tourists.
The guest house will have a hall for exhibitions, a museum to display municipality projects and photos of heritage that will decorate the walls with attractive lighting.
The amended design will be submitted to the director-general of Dubai Municipality, Hussain Nasser Lootah, for final approval..
The guest house will be located near the Al Ghubaiba Metro station in Al Shindagha and is expected to include 13 rooms with attached bathrooms which will be used to accommodate external delegations in addition to two meeting rooms and a room for displaying awards and recognitions.
The committee overseeing the project is headed by Rashad Bukhash, director of architectural heritage department, and includes Esmail Al Banna, director of corporate marketing and relations, Khalid Mohammad Ahmad, head of architectural heritage projects design section, Badr Mohammad Abdullah Al Ali, head of studies section, Fathiya Al Zarouni, from the architectural heritage department, Waleed Al Shaibani, acting head of public relations section, and Sereen Sabra, planning and follow-up officer.
“The guest house will be built in line with the vision of Dubai Municipality in preserving the architectural heritage and traditions of the emirate and it will serve as a cultural monument,” said Bukhash.
