Complaint cell boosts accessibility
Abu Dhabi: The committee to address complaints in the Federal National Council was set up to develop the council and deal with the changes.
Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, a member from Abu Dhabi and head of the Examining Complaints Committee, said the committee has reviewed how complaints have been addressed in the Federal National Council (FNC) over the years.
According to the law the complainant should give his name, address and contact. He can only complain against a federal body or authority. Sending complaints through the FNC's website has made it easy for people to reach the council.
People complain about the Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme, marriage fund and students abroad. "If we want to see an active council more authority should be given. It's useless to work with the same code of conduct and laws put in place 36 years ago."
A committee was set up to review laws to develop the council in line with the recent changes in social, political and economic life.
