Dubai: The Annual Government Meetings for 2018 will be held in Abu Dhabi on October 1 and 2, announced Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future.

In a statement issued on Monday, Al Gergawi said that the 120 initiatives launched during the first edition of the Annual Government Meetings will be followed upon by the relevant governmental committees.

He pointed out that the meetings, which brings together Rulers, Crown Princes, Chairmen of Executive Councils, and local and federal government representatives, are in line with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance coordination and integration in government work to achieve UAE Vision 2021.

Al Gergawi said that Shaikh Khalifa’s orders also concerns making progress in UAE Centennial 2071. He pointed out that the meetings complement the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to consolidate coordination on all levels to bolster and speed up the march of national development in all sectors.
