2,000 expats benefit from Dubai Police awareness events

Dubai: More than 2,000 expats living in Dubai have benefited from 13 awareness events organised by Dubai Police.

Colonel Mohammad Salem Al Muhairi, director of the Security Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Community Services at Dubai Police, said that Dubai Police are always keen on targeting foreign communities through its awareness programmes and events to enhance constant communication with them, raise their awareness of the effective regulations and laws and protect them from committing crimes and violating laws.

The awareness events have targeted various ages and non-Arabic speaking nationalities as there are more than 206 non-Arabic speaking nationalities living in the UAE — most of them Asian — where the Indian community alone comprises 48 per cent of the total percentage of expats, Al Muhairi added.
