Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned and denounced the reprehensible and provocative statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The UAE affirmed its categorical rejection of these unacceptable remarks, calling them a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Khalifa Bin Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, reaffirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its unwavering stance against any threats to the Kingdom’s security, stability, and sovereignty. He emphasised that Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty is an inviolable "red line" that no country should undermine.

He also reiterated the UAE’s firm rejection of any infringement on Palestinians' inalienable rights or attempts at displacement, stressing the need to halt settlement activities that threaten regional stability and undermine prospects for peace and coexistence.

Furthermore, the minister urged the international community, the United Nations, and the UN Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in ending illegal practices that violate international law.

Khalifa Bin Shaheen reaffirmed the UAE’s historic and steadfast commitment to safeguarding Palestinian rights and underscored the importance of establishing a serious political framework to resolve the conflict.

He reiterated that regional stability can only be achieved through a two-state solution, ensuring the creation of an independent Palestinian state.

Arab Parliament condemns

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, strongly condemned Netanyahu’s statements, warning that they threaten regional stability and global peace.

He affirmed the Arab Parliament’s rejection of these remarks, which infringe on Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and stability, and described them as a violation of international law. He stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is a key element of Arab national security.

Al Yamahi also reiterated the Arab Parliament’s steadfast opposition to statements that encroach on the sovereignty of Arab nations. He emphasized that such remarks violate the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights to establish an independent state on their entire national territory, including the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, based on the borders of June 4, 1967.

Furthermore, he expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in safeguarding its sovereignty and security.

Saudi Arabia’s response

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia appreciates the condemnation and rejection expressed by brotherly nations regarding Netanyahu’s remarks about the displacement of the Palestinian people. The Kingdom values positions that affirm the centrality of the Palestinian issue to Arab and Muslim nations.

The Kingdom reiterates its categorical rejection of such statements, which attempt to deflect attention from the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in Gaza, including ethnic cleansing. It also highlights that the extremist occupying mentality fails to understand the deep emotional, historical, and legal connection the Palestinian people have to their land.

The Kingdom underscores that the Palestinian people have the right to live in peace, as evidenced by the devastation of Gaza, which has left over 160,000 dead or injured, most of them women and children, without any regard for human dignity. The Kingdom affirms that Palestinians are not intruders who can be expelled at will by the Israeli occupation.

The Kingdom also points out that the proponents of these extremist views are the same ones who have undermined peace efforts by rejecting coexistence, turning down peace initiatives supported by Arab nations, and perpetuating injustice for over 75 years, disregarding truth, justice, law, and the values of the United Nations Charter, particularly the human right to live with dignity on one’s land.

The Kingdom reiterates that the Palestinian people’s rights will remain firmly intact, and no force will strip them of their rights, no matter how long it takes. It asserts that lasting peace can only be achieved by returning to reason and embracing the principle of peaceful coexistence through a two-state solution.
