Ramadan tents at hotels stay busy with attractive offers
Al Ain has a number of Ramadan tents in the city, during this month of fasting. Hotel Inter-Continental's '1001 Nights' tent is back this year with all its festive specialities. From the cozy log fire to the traditional snacks and drinks, Anise, Sahlab, Helba and other favourites along with Arabian desserts like Um Ali, Belela and Qutaif.
While the adults enjoy a game of backgammon with a hubbly bubbly on the side , the children have a chance to entertain themselves in the hotel's playground. The tent is open to everyone from 8.00pm until late.
'Al Zaeem Cafe' is the Al Ain Rotana Hotel's version of the Ramadan tent with traditional Arabic sweets and snacks, like falafil, rice puddings and manakeesh, on offer.
Hot and cold beverages and sheeshah can be savoured while enjoying live music by Elias Abdoul, an Oud player from Lebanon. The tent in the hotel's garden has a seating capacity of 500 and is open to the public from 6.30pm.
The Hilton Hotel's tent carries the appellation of 'Layali Al Hilmeya'. A selection of hot drinks and desserts are on offer here along with hubbly bubbly. Pre-recorded music provide entertainment from 8.00pm until 3.00am.
Weekends are reported to be the busiest times at these tents.
