Five-year old dies after falling from second floor balcony

Abu Dhabi: A  five-year-old Arab boy died on Saturday after falling off the balcony of a second floor flat in Al Murour Street in Abu Dhabi.
Brigidier General Maktoum Al Sharifi, Head of the Abu Dhabi Metropolitan Police Department said that the child (H.A) had left his room in the flat and headed towards the balcony without his parents’ knowledge.
He them climbed a concrete pole on the balcony and climbed a one metre high aluminium barrier, where he lost his balance and fell to the street below where he died instantly.
Al Sharifi  pointed out that a complete police patrol with an ambulance was mobilized to the scene the minute a report was received by the operations room.
It was also evident that the child was autistic, he added.
He also extended his condolences to the child’s family for their sad loss.
