Dubai: Flames partly damaged two warehouses used to store materials for recycling on Friday afternoon, the Dubai Civil Defence confirmed.

Firefighters from four stations were dispatched to the scene after they received a call at 1:17pm pm, the DCD spokesperson told Gulf News.

The fire was put out at 2.22pm, he said, adding that the cause is yet unknown.

"The fire was controlled before it could spread to adjacent facilities. It was a recycling plant and the materials stored there are not that highly flamable," the spokesperson said. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Residents living in the nearby International City community spotted the fire and reported it on social media.

The community is adjacent to Dragon Mart, the biggest trading centre for Chinese-produced goods in the UAE.
