Ajman A fire broke out at an auto repair shop in Al Jurf area of Ajman on Wednesday afternoon, Colonel Nasser Rashid Al Ziri, director of the media and public relations department of Ajman Civil Defence, said. No casualties reported
The shop was gutted completely in the blaze.Firefighters, police patrols and ambulance reached the shop in a short time and managed to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to the adjacent shops.
A rescue team evacuated nearby buildings to ensure workers’ safety, Col. Al Ziri said.
Police blocked all roads leading to the shop, he added, which allowed firefighters and ambulance personnel to reach the area quicker.
Col. Al Ziri said, “Firefighters battled the flames and managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent premises.”
Col. Al Ziri said the site will be handed over to forensic experts to determine the cause of the fire, after the cooling operation is completed. He appealed to the owners of industrial facilities to properly maintain their fire-fighting systems.
