Fire broke out in a fenced plot in Sharjah

Sharjah: A huge fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday in a fenced plot of land in Al Sajja Industrial Area, Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, director-general of Sharjah Civil Defence, said.

The land was a storage site for wood and waste, he said.

The fire broke out at 2.18am and continued till 4.30am.

Firefighters from Sharjah and aided by water tanks from Ajman Civil Defence worked together to control the blaze and prevent it fire from spreading to nearby diesel tanks.

The cooling operation started at 4.30am.

The site will be handed over to police experts to investigate the cause of the fire.
