Abu Dhabi authorities contain fire near Yas Waterworld on Yas Island

Abu Dhabi: Emergency teams from Abu Dhabi Police and the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority successfully controlled a fire that broke out earlier on Friday, March 28, 2025, at a construction site near Yas Waterworld on Yas Island.

Authorities confirmed that the fire was fully extinguished and did not result in any injuries. Cooling and smoke extraction operations are currently underway.

Earlier in the day, Abu Dhabi Police announced the incident on its official X platform and other social media channels, urging the public to follow only official sources for updates.

The fire, which started before noon at a construction site adjacent to Yas Waterworld, was swiftly contained by response teams, ensuring no harm to individuals or nearby structures.

Meanwhile, the Yas Waterworld has officially confirmed that full operations have resumed, and the park is ready to welcome visitors starting Saturday and throughout the Eid holiday.
