Fire breaks out at building in Sharjah

Sharjah: A massive fire broke out on Monday evening at a building under construction in Al Khan area, opposite Safeer Mall.

An official at Sharjah Civil Defence explained that the fire partially damaged the 21-storey building, and that the fire was suspected to have been caused by an electric short circuit.

The fire broke out at around 6:30pm and caused heavy traffic jams for commuters who were heading towards Sharjah via Al Ittihad Road.

However, no casualties or injuries were reported.
