Fire at apartment in Al Wasl Square, Dubai

Dubai: A fire broke out in an apartment at the Al Wasl Square complex on Sunday afternoon, according to Dubai Civil Defence.

The fire broke out at 2.04pm and was contained by 2.19pm, with no injuries reported.

The blaze was visible through the apartment's balcony, which overlooks the main road, opposite Al Safa Park. When approached, the owner of the apartment said he is not aware of the cause of the fire. He declined to comment further.

Security guards, firefighters and waiters from nearby restaurants gathered at the scene, as police and firefighters further investigated the cause.
