The Filipino Computer Club-Dubai (FCC-D) - under the auspices of the Philippine Embassy, Office of the Labour Attache and Overseas Welfare Administration - will hold a general membership meeting on Friday, from 1 to 3pm at the Philippine Labour Office in Satwa.
FCC-D is a non-profit organisation providing free computer education and facilities to the Overseas Filipino Workers of Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Since its inception in 1996, more than 2,100 students have completed their Basic Computer Course.
In July, the official website of OWWA/lLabour Office was designed and conceptualised through the combined efforts of the Web design head trainer, Engr. Milo Torres; FCC president Engr. Cherry Pye Zablan-Torres; and selected students from Web Design Batch 1.
The club's official website (www.fccdubai.com) was officially launched. Plans are under way to set up their own library of books and CD ROMs, offer more advance courses, conduct web-related seminars workshops and to install a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL).
On Friday, all members will be assigned in different committees.
All registered members are invited to attend and those who would like to be a member can register online at fccdubai.com or just simply come on Friday.
During the meeting, the new set of officers for the year 2002-2003 will be inducted.
