Feels surreal: Indian expat wins Dh1 million in Big Ticket draw
Manju Ajitha Kumar, a senior accountant, purchased winning ticket on his own
Abu Dhabi: An Indian expat based in Qatar won Dh1 million in Big Ticket’s last Millionaire weekly e-draw for January.
Manju Ajitha Kumar, who hails from Kerala, has been living in Qatar for the past 20 years. The 53-year-old senior accountant lives with his wife and children.
His journey with Big Ticket began a decade ago after discovering it through advertisements. For the past five years, he has been teaming up with his colleagues to purchase tickets every month. However, this time, luck was entirely on his side as he purchased the winning ticket on his own.
“I still can’t believe I’ve won. It feels so surreal,” Kumar said.
“When I first received the call, I thought it might be a scam, so I immediately checked the official website to be sure. It was only after confirming that I let the reality of my win sink in,” he noted.
With his winnings, Kumar plans to invest in his children’s education and support his parents. As for the future, he has no plans to stop playing.
“My message to others is simple: Keep trying your luck – you never know when your moment will come.”
In February, Big Ticket is offering a Dh20 million grand prize, Dh250,000 in weekly e-draws, the Big Win Contest, and luxury dream cars. Individuals who purchase two or more cash tickets in one transaction between February 1 and 23 will have the chance to be selected to attend the live draw on March 3 and win guaranteed cash prizes ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh150,000. The names of the four confirmed participants will be revealed on the Big Ticket website on March 1.
