Fashion show to help cancer patients

The Friends of Cancer Patients Society held a charity fashion show on Sunday, the revenue of which will go towards helping cancer patients.

The event was held at Sharjah Women's Club and was attended by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and Honourary Chairperson of the Society.

The costumes were designed by Kumbaz fashion house in Jordan, owned by the three sisters Shereen, Fatina and Abla Asfour.

Models of various nationality showed off around 40 dresses, fashioned in traditional cuts and designs from the Jordanian heritage.

Three of the dresses were taken from the personal wardrobe of Queen Rania, the wife of King Abdulla II of Jordan.

The Friends of Cancer Patients Society will also hold an entertainment and educational programme today at the Discovery Centre in Sharjah for children suffering from cancer.

The programme is being held in conjunction with Sharjah Women's Club, Childhood Centres and Tawam Hospital.

Its objective is to bring cheer to the children and enable them to enjoy a learning experience mixed with fun. They will tour the centre's various sections and try out its many interactive games and experiments.
