Dubai: It may only be 3pm but if you’re in need of a quick nap, and the only deadline you’re concerned about is how quick can you crawl under a blanket, you can now actually head down to Dubai’s first free nap bar.

The concept for the nap bar was brought by French design furniture house Smarin, which invites visitors to “disconnect and recharge” with pillows, ponchos and tea.

Founder Stephanie Marin, in a statement, said: “I had the idea for the Nap Bar because when I'm walking in big cities, sometimes I take a break with a coffee but actually I need more of a real break.”

The temporary installation, described by Smarin’s spokesperson as, “a space devoted to wellness, a social cocoon…created to integrate a moment of calm, relaxation [and] rest,” is open from 10am-7pm, and runs from March 10 to 31.

But due to the limited number of the soft dune-shaped lounge chairs, you can opt to book a private visit for small groups at: contact@antidotedxb.com.

The nap bar is located at Zumtobel Lighting Warehouse in Al Quoz, 6A Street, opposite Al Serkal Avenue, and is part of the second edition of the Artroom project, titled: Collective loft.

The Collective Loft collection, according to organisers, aims to represent the home of a young art collector who picked up special pieces through his travels around the world.

What is the Artroom project?

The 2016 edition of Artroom features artworks and handmade design pieces by 25 artists and designers from 13 countries, including the UAE, Pakistan, Iran, and Argentina. The focus of this year’s edition are emerging artists from the region.

Participants in the second edition of the Artroom project, include:

Ibrahim Quraishi, recipient of numerous awards, including The Mondriaan Fonds Grant Award 2014

Pakistani artists Idrees Hanif and Aamir Habib, who will introduce their 3D pieces in cement and neon

Mohammad Rabie, an emerging Egyptian artist whose paintings reflect his heritage and cultural practices
