If you don't have the time, a registered guide can take your guests out
Have you ever wished for someone to help you entertain the houseguests while you go about your daily life. Now, with the personalised tour service offered by Trudy Morgan, your wish can come true. A registered tour guide, she can pick visitors up at their doorstep in her SUV and show them around Dubai.
"The idea is aimed at the tourist who doesn't want to go on package tours with 20 other people on coaches. The tour is exclusively customised to suit the taste of the visitor and offers flexibility in terms of where to go and what to do," comments Trudy.
"At the same time, it can appeal to residents who are too busy in the matters of routine to accompany their guests everywhere, everyday."
Museums, mosques, souks, historic sites, dhow cruises, famous landmarks and shopping malls are all included in the places to visit.
"There are a lot of interesting things to see and do in Dubai. Some may prefer shopping, lunch and an abra ride on the creek over an outing of to the museums. It all depends on what each person fancies," says Trudy.
With her background in retail management, Trudy's amicable and fun-loving personality appears to be the source of her inspiration to begin this personalised tour service. "I like people and enjoy meeting newcomers. I want people to enjoy their holiday here and leave with happy memories of Dubai," explains Trudy.
Certified by the DTCM, she is qualified to answer most questions about the emirate of Dubai. For example if you want to know when the Maktoum Bridge was built or how the wind towers work, Trudy can tell you.
"Through the course, I was informed about all aspects of Dubai from tourist attraction sites to traditions, history, Islam and even visa and property regulations," says Trudy.
Every year, she renews her licence with a refresher course that provides her with updated information about the emirate.
Trudy can attend to a maximum of four people at a time, and can provide visitors a glimpse of the emirate's heritage as well as the contemporary lifestyle.
With Dubai being known as a consumer's paradise, she specialises in shopping trips. Whether it's for high street fashion wear in the malls or gold and souvenirs in the traditional souks, she can accompany the guests to their desired destination.
