When was the book launched?

A Good Girl was launched last year in May and is extremely popular among the current generation. The bestselling author Ravinder Singh had a major role in the publishing of the novel.

What inspired you to write this book?

There was a period in India, where a girl was wrongly looked at and blamed for all the problems that might happen around her for no significant mistake on her part. Her tiniest to tiniest mistakes were pointed out like major sins and scandals, which adversely affected her mentally and emotionally. These cases were very common in India. In fact, they still exist in parts of India. My heart goes out to these women and I feel sympathetic. They all deserve a second chance. That’s what inspired the book.

Who is this book for?

Dedicated to all those who have been where Ellora, the main character of A Good Girl has been. It was also written in this hope that society would understand how every human deserves a second chance. Society expects too much from a simple Indian girl, who by the way, is never given the freedom or right to voice her opinion.

Where is it available?

With about 290,000 followers on Twitter and Facebook, A Good Girl was mainly launched on social media and online retail stores including Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal etc.

Any excerpt from the book you like to quote?

‘Malleability, submissiveness and obedience are considered to be the most desirable virtues in a daughter and indispensable, if she is to be lovingly moulded into the society’s age-old concepts of a good girl.
