The present interiors of Smita Sheth's home owe their origins to an ethnic coffee table. The Sheths picked up this chunky piece of furniture and decided that they wanted their home to entirely reflect ethnic elegance. After a while, they scrapped the idea but were left with the table.

They had also picked up some modern furniture pieces from one of the major showrooms in Dubai. The Sheths had many ideas of their own, but they preferred a designer's touch to the interiors. In stepped Design People. "We showed them the coffee table, the pieces of furniture and artefacts that we had, and they took it up from there," says Smita.
