Dubai: A team from Novotel Fujairah volunteered to help clean Wadi Wurayah as part of their commitment to sustainable development and community service.
Wadi Wurayah is a wetland of international importance and was closed to the public in December 2013 to allow for habitat and species recovery and to curb the main threats such as littering and graffiti.
Wadi Wurayah is protected by decree and has been recognised as a wetland of international importance by the Ramsar Convention in 2010. It is the first protected mountain area in the UAE, home to more than 800 species of plants and animals.
