Fujairah: One woman was killed and five others were injured in a five-car pile-up in Fujairah on Wednesday evening.
The 21-year-old Emirati woman died on the spot, while five other Emiratis were taken to hospital after sustaining minor to moderate injuries.
The accident, which took place on Airport Road around 6.40pm, occurred after one car strayed onto the lane of oncoming traffic.
Lieutenant-Colonel Dr Saeed Al Hassani, director of the Media and Public Relations department of Fujairah Police, said five cars had crashed into each other as a result.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene where they found the 21-year-old woman, identified as M.A.H.M., dead. They rushed the injured to hospital. The injured were between the ages of 18 and 36.
