UAE residents rescue 3 youth stranded in rough seas off Ras Al Khaimah

They were out fishing when the waves swelled and prevented them from returning to shore

Ras Al Khaimah: Police in Ras Al Khaimah have praised the public’s cooperation in rescuing three young Emiratis who were unable to return to the shore in the city of Al Rams due to the rough seas while they were out fishing.

Colonel Ahmed Salem Al Mazoud Al Shehi, head of the Al Rams Comprehensive Police Station, said a report was received from one of the citizens stating that he and two other citizens were in distress.

He added that the National Ambulance and the Search and Rescue Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police were immediately notified, and upon their arrival, it was found that several citizens present at the scene had successfully rescued the three young men, who are in their 20s, and brought them back to the shore. He pointed out that a medical examination was conducted on the young men at the site, and it was found that they were in good health.

Col Al Shehhi urged the public to exercise caution and pay attention to the tides while fishing or swimming.
