Sharjah: The National Centre for Research and Rescue of the National Guard successfully rescued a family whose boat broke down 13 nautical miles from Sharjah Creek.

Upon receiving the report, they quickly located the site and dispatched a Coast Guard rescue boat to secure the family and tow their vessel.

The National Guard leadership urged sea-goers to ensure the safety of their marine vessels and check their seaworthiness. They emphasised the importance of adhering to necessary precautionary measures and having the required safety equipment before and during sea outings.

They advised that in case of emergencies, residents and visitors must contact the marine emergency hotline (996).
