Sharjah: The Local Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Team in the Emirate of Sharjah has confirmed the complete containment of the fire that broke out at 6:10 a.m. on Saturday at Hamriyah Port, due to the ignition of petrochemical materials. The response was marked by swift field action, high readiness, institutional coordination, and precision in task execution.

Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Head of the Local Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Team, stated that specialized teams successfully brought the fire under full control at 6:25 a.m. on Sunday, just 24 hours after it began.

He added that relevant authorities have commenced cooling operations at the site. Meanwhile, technical teams from the Laboratories and Forensic Evidence Department will conduct a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of the fire and assess damages, in coordination with the concerned entities. The results will be officially announced once all forensic and technical procedures are complete.

Major General bin Amer emphasized that emergency teams responded professionally from the very first moments, executing a well-structured response plan focused on extinguishing the fire, securing the surrounding area, and isolating sources of danger. The operation employed the latest equipment and machinery, and was supported by specialized technical units from both local and national agencies, including: the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, National Guard, Civil Defense departments across the UAE, Joint Aviation Command, the municipalities of Sharjah and Hamriyah, Sharjah Civil Aviation Authority, and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). This collaborative effort was key in containing the blaze and preventing its spread to surrounding areas.
