Ras Al Khaimah: With summer temperatures on the rise and more families heading to beaches and pools, Ras Al Khaimah Police have launched a public awareness campaign urging parents not to lose sight of their children while swimming.

Under the slogan ‘Don’t Look Away from Your Children,’ the campaign — organised by the Media and Public Relations Department — aims to remind the public of the importance of supervising children closely, especially near water.

The police stressed the need to follow safety measures whether at public beaches, home pools, or those in hotels and resorts, to prevent tragic accidents such as drowning or falls.

The campaign also warned families against letting children swim in unauthorised areas or unsupervised. It encouraged parents to teach their children swimming skills, maintain constant supervision, and ensure young kids wear life jackets when in the water.

In addition, the campaign highlighted the importance of rescue gear and basic first aid training, including CPR, for both children and adults.

It also cautioned swimmers about dangerous sea currents, emphasising the need to enjoy a safe, tragedy-free summer.
